South Africa’s largest source of pre-owned, authenticated luxury items – opened its second store in South Africa in the Cape Quarter Lifestyle Village. The retailer had its soft opening mid-December, just in time for the summer holidays in the Mother City, which has won countless international tourism accolades for being Africa’s best luxury destination.
“We’re super excited to be opening our second store,” says Luxity’s owner, Luke Calitz, “The Cape Quarter is arguably one of Cape Town’s trendiest shopping destination.”
The Cape Quarter is situated in the historic De Waterkant district, making it easily accessible. According to the AfrAsia Bank’s South Africa Wealth Report 2018, there are 490 multimillionaires in Cape Town and its surrounding suburbs, so the shop is well situated.
“Cape Town is one of the most sought-after luxury destinations in the world,” says Calitz. “And while most of us think that these travellers are from the first world countries, its Africans we’re hoping to see in our stores. Africa has a luxury market that luxury brands are not addressing.”
According to Luxity’s
African and Luxury Market Report, not one luxury brand opened a new store on the continent during 2017-2018. The Luxity store itself features wood and concrete tones and an overall modern and clean look with the purpose of showcasing the items from their best side. Style-conscious customers will find their heart’s desires at Luxity with a range of handbags, shoes, sunglasses, scarves and other accessories from the world’s most coveted brands.
“We stock all the most desirable luxury brands, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermès and Prada. Many of which don’t have a store presence in the country or the continent,” says Calitz, “So, isn’t it time for someone to sell these brands to Cape Town’s locals and visitors?”
Luxity’s online boutique at
www.luxity.co.za as well as the flagship store in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg which opened in 2017, already enjoys enormous success.
"With this new store, we will be able to offer even more affordable luxury to our large following of fashionistas,” states Calitz.
Luxity’s new store in the Cape Quarter Lifestyle Village will make accessing high-end, authentic, luxury items easier. The centre has ample parking, great outdoor restaurant facilities, and is open seven days a week, so anyone can easily pop in and out and end a weekly shop with a Louis Vuitton handbag.
