Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2017 at Paris Fashion Week
Nicolas Ghesquière, creative director of Louis Vuitton, presented a Spring collection for the French house that took us to the digital frontier.
The spectacular show was held at the Fondation Louis Vuitton on the outskirts of Paris where the runway was lined with video screens with references to the popular game Minecraft.
The show was obviously lined with celebrities like Demi Moore, Michelle Williams, Catherine Deneuve, Miranda Kerr and many, many more.
See-through fabrications might be a trend for spring, but Ghesquière put his own spin on transparency with mesh tops structured to look like digital-age chain mail. Louis Vuitton’s creative director is known for his ability to cut – what many call – perfect trousers. This season is no different and he put that skill to work on slim surf pants with exposed zippers. For those who like it a bit more upscale and classy, the parade of pouf skirts might do the trick, especially when worn with Louis Vuitton’s new monogrammed leather jackets.
The catwalk also introduced us to many new bag shapes, including a top-handle steamer tote, a drawstring backpack, and a fabulous micro-size trunk with accentuated trim.
